Signs his paintings also as “ I. Antequera or D’Haro”.

He developed an interest in painting and drawing, encouraged by his teacher at school. His first painting exhibition was in his hometown in 1945 and 1946. The poet Juan Alcaide Manchego encouraged him to exhibit in the Exhibition of Plastic Arts of Valdepeñas.

Attended classes at the School of Arts and Crafts in Madrid under Enrique Brañez, professor/ painter.

He also painted under professor – painter, José Frau. Antequera then attended classes in the School of Fine Arts of San Fernando under Carlos Sainz de Tejada.. He continued to exhibit in Madrid at the National Library exhibition “Artists of Ciudad Real”.

In 1954 Isidro married the Criptanense, Juliana Galindo, with whom he had three children. In 1966 he received a scholarship from the Fundación Juan March. He travelled to Italy and France for several months to paint. He founded and directed, Criptana, the Journal MILESTONE, seeking cultural and poetic roots of La Mancha

. He created several paintings for the Barcelona Wax Museum. He was director of the Art Courses Almagro Cultural Foundation of Castilla-La Mancha in 1982 and 1984.

He has had over 50 solo exhibitions in various Spanish cities, his last exhibition in 2006, which was a Retrospective.
